Swimming Classes | Goldfish Swim School

Swimming Classes | Goldfish Swim School

This post is sponsored by Goldfish Swim School.

Like many of you know my middle kid almost died in a pool. After such traumatic event for him and his siblings it was difficult for me to let him get back in the water. Thanks to some collaborators in the blogging world I partnered up with Goldfish Swim School. We started the swimming classes sometime in February and it’s the best thing that’s happened to us in a long time. Not only are the facilities excellent, the sessions are perfect for their age and skill level. Thanks to the classes my kids are already more confident in the water.

Facilities:

When we got to the school I had no idea what to expect. I didn’t know how the kids would feel (going in the water), but to my surprise the environment was very fun and it made the kids very comfortable and ready. The school has everything the kids might need. It has a big area for changing, bathrooms, cubicles, bathing suit dryer, hair dryers and showers. The showers are inside the pool area, making it super easy for the kids to go straight from the pool to the shower (and don’t worry if you forgot soap or shampoo- they have it for you). They also have a little store where you can find swimming essentials.

The classes are 30 minuts long. They can be individual or in groups. My children are together in their own little group. They like it because they motivate each other. The sessions include different skills. Some of the ones that the kids have learned are to breath, submerge their heads, floating, how to move your hands and leg positioning. In the short time the kids have taken classes they can swim short distances and they are super comfortable and confident putting their heads in the water. Even though they only go once a week it’s perfect for us, and the progress is so incredible that Glenn already went up to Glidder II. Can you imagine? The kid that almost drowned and now he’s swimming- not even 2 years later. And that’s without taking into consideration that they didn’t really go in April since we were away. Ms. Esther, their instructor, is so patient y and it’s always a struggle when class is over to get them out of the pool.

Are we going to keep going? Absolutely.

I’ll be really honest, I have fallen in love with Goldfish. The progress is so evident. Every weekend I’m more and more impressed. Even when we went on vacation, I was shocked to see the kids in the water. I also look at other kids when I am there during the weekend. Kids in other lanes who are amazing swimmers and turn on command. I want to say so much. I do want to invite you to take your kids to a class. They sometimes offer a free swimming lesson. IT’S SO WORTH IT. And the other thing is that is never too late to start. Even if you think your kids is a great swimmer, take them- because Goldfish will go beyond that and teach them skills and safety- making them even better swimmers.
