Get Geeked NYC

Electronics and new gadgets come out everyday. Sometimes is hard to know what the new trends are or new products. Enter, Get Geeked. The first ever Get Geeked was held in NYC in October and it featured new companies and their products. I am not into technology like that but figured it would be interesting to see what possible gifts I could add to the holiday gift guide for the technology driven person in your life. This event was open to the public with a media hour before hand.

My first impression was, there was a lot of stuff. Firstly, the iPad called Osmo. This is a reflector for the iPad so that it turns the digital game into a hands on game. It’s super cool and fun for the kids and adults.

The other item I found that everyone needs is Flygrip. This little gadget goes on the back of your phone, making it easier to hold your phone with one hand. It also turns it into a kickstand. I didn’t know I needed this until I put it on that night and my life has been changes forever! Seriously it’s so much easier to take selfies and play Candy Crush! LOL.

There were so many products that caught my eye. There is a watch that connects via Bluetooth to your phone and tells you when you get a text or missed a phone call. This is great for driving and even when in a meeting. It’s so innovative. It looks like a normal watch but then it shows you the text when you receive it.

The was music, different seminars on even more products. Another interesting technology that I was unfamiliar was and learned about was 3D printing. Especially from American Pearl. This is a website where you can design fine jewelry and it’s printed in 3D. The website is great because it takes you step by step and it shows you in real-time what your piece will look like before you buy it.

I enjoyed learning about the new products. Definitely hoping they do it again next year. It was a lot of fun and I learned a lot.
