Moda para el otoño

Published by:

Summer Style: Maxi dress 2 ways

Published by:

My favorite item of clothing for the summer, besides my jeans, is a maxi dress. Maxi dresses can be super versatile and comfortable. Wear them with flats for a zoo outing with the kids or add some wedges for a date night. All you need is to change accessories around and you have a completely different look. Here I give you some ideas on how I like to style the dress.
For the day look I like to keep it simple with a big bag, that can also double as a super chic diaper or beach bag, a chunky necklace and bracelets but in the nude-brown color and leather sandals. I love these sandals in the summer because they look good with EVERYTHING.
For the night look I choose a small clutch bag (that is also cross body- perfect for dancing), the same chunky necklace and bracelet, except this time in black as well as the wedges for a more sultry vibe.
There are definitely a bunch of ways that you could style the dress. However, a good rule of thumb is to keep neutrals for the day and dark colors for night. As far a makeup and hair, I like the same rule- very neutral during the day. Think: BB cream, mascara, some bronzer and gloss with messy hair or a braid. For night-time, foundation, a smokey eye and rosy cheeks would work best. As for the hair, take the braid from day to-night by putting it up in a messy bun or letting it down into messy seductive waves and voila!
Have fun and remember just because we’re moms doesn’t mean we have to sacrifice comfort for style- maxi dresses let us have it ALL!

Summertime!

Published by:

Summertime!Kids are not the only ones who have fun during the summer months. I previously posted the essentials to keep kids safe during summertime, but what about mom. Let’s start with sunscreen is ALWAYS A MUST. But for moms is not all about safety, we also want to look stylish and be comfortable to run around with the kids. Here’s my favorite styles for the summer. The maxi dress and sandals work for every event in the summer, from running errands to friends bbq. The sandals have straps so easier to run around than with flip-flops. For the beach a classic black swimsuit will last and go with everything you pair it with.
As far as beauty, KISS, keep it simple silly! A cute lip crayon color- I really like these Neutrogena ones, a BB or CC cream  (make sure it has SPF), and mascara. Because mascara is a must and you want to make an impact without looking overdone, I would do the Younique 3D Fiber Lashes.
Keep accessories simple and one color so you can mix and match them with more prints and styles!
Hope you have an awesome summer! Show you me your style ladies!

Target Fashion in BLACK!

Published by:

I love Target. I mean really who doesn’t? So I figured I would share my favorite fashion items in my favorite color scheme. Black and white is super NYC, never runs out of style and it’s flattering. All these items can be repurposed in a bunch of different ways and they are affordable! Hello, did I mentioned they are all from Target? And of course I had to add some Star Wars stuff in there because anything Star Wars is on trend right now.
Everything in the picture could be dressed down and used for running errands with kids, but it could also be dressed up for a date night or night out with friends. I gravitate towards double duty items, as time to shop as a mom is pretty limited. But seriously the best thing is that everything is affordable, which is I lovee Target. You can purchase style but still be able to buy your groceries! This is why the store is any moms dream!
Of course, the beauty of black is that you can style it with ANYTHING. Like anything. The black hat can go with a spring dress or a fall jacket, the T-shirt can be layered in the winter but used in the summer all on its own!
What’s your go to color or pattern?

Maintaining the FRIZZ with VO5

Published by:

image001

It’s still summer, if only for a bit longer. It’s still humid and our hair is still crazy. We’re all running around taking care of back to school things for our kids but somehow forget about ourselves. But, it doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive. Alberto VO5 has an affordable, easy to follow treatment to keep that frizz in check.

VO51

The three-step process:

Once a week you use the Hot Oil Treatment ($4.79). What the hot oil does is protect your hair and prep it for the shampoo and conditioner, not only that, it also restores the hair natural shine and strength.

Three times a week or every other day wash hair using the Smooth + Sleek Shampoo and Conditioner ($2.49 each). It helps control the frizz with its smoothing complex formulation.

Everyday use the Shine, Glow and Go Body Beauty Oil ($4.99). The most awesome thing about this oil is not only does it make your hair shine and feel silky but it also works on your skin. So if you want smoothness to last all day spray it all over. (This will be a great addition to your winter routine as well!)

VO5

As you can see, it doesn’t take a lot of time or a lot of money to take care of yourself. When we take care of ourselves we can be better moms and lift our spirits off. Don’t you want beautiful hair?

What’s your hair routine like?

Mother’s Day- What to get mom!!

Published by:

With all the incredible options out there it can be overwhelming to figure out what to get the moms in your life. Here are my favorite things and you could win one!

1. LeSportSac Weekender: This is without a doubt one of the best bags for any traveling mom. It fits everything you need for a weekend. But what I like the most is the insane amount of prints and that the fabric can be wiped clean. I can’t tell you enough how much I like this bag. They also have tons of styles, from handbags to backpacks to make up bags. Right now LeSportSac has free shipping on orders of $49 or more. They also have a new Disney Collection which includes Minnie Mouse and Cinderella prints (they are gorgeous!).

MothersDay

2. doTerra Essential Oils: As you know I am a HUGE fan of essential oils. And what better gift for moms that the gift of health and beauty. My favorites are Lavender, PastTense, Breathe and Peppermint. I use the oils for cleaning, diffusing and on my skin. Lavender is amazing for everything! It can be diffused to calm everyone, but it can also be used to help with skin irritations. The oils last a very long time and doTerra has the best quality oils out there. If you want more information on the oils you can check out my previous post here as well as my video on my travel oils here.

3. Timi and Leslie Diaper Bag: Diaper bags don’t need to be boring anymore. Timi and Leslie has practical, stylish handbags to make any mama look her best. My favorite thing about the bags is that they come with everything the mama might need, including the stroller clips and a strap for the bag. This makes it a GREAT value. The bags are available in various stylish designs as well as different colors. The bags are made of vegan faux leather that is also PVC free. These bags are guaranteed to make any mama to be happy and comfortable carrying all her babies essential items.

4. A box subscription: There are over hundreds of options and different prices. You can get Rocksbox, which is jewelry, or Ipsy which includes beauty. There are others from Walmart and even Target which also have beauty. There subscriptions for shoelovers and like Shodazzle. Literally there is a box for everything, even crafts! This website shows you a lot of the boxes out there. Just be careful, if you know the mama you are gifting the subscription too can’t afford it make sure to gift her a couple of months, so that way is not just a tease and she can actually enjoy the gift!

MothersDay1

5. A Spa Day: Never will you ever go wrong getting a mom some R&R. Try a gift certificate for places like Massage Envy or Red Door Spa. At Massage Envy (which I LOVE because they have memberships), moms can choose from different types of massages to facials. I love the facials, they last an hour and include some serious head and neck massages. Red Door Spa, is a more traditional spa with different services from massages to make up. You can get gift cards for both places so that mom can actually choose what she would like to do.

6. DIY gifts: There are so MANY MANY project online. From homemade cards to homemade scrubs, what better way to show that mom you love her by making her gift yourself? I am making my mom and my sister a body scrub and adding it to their gift baskets. I like to do baskets or boxes and add different things. Last year it was a plant, a scrub, and some soaps. This yeah I am re-doing the scrub because it was a hit and adding other things like make up and a gift card.

I made this scrub for last year: Coconut Oil and coffee grinds.

Enhancing natural beauty with Bare Minerals

Published by:

I have been a fan of Bare Minerals FOREVER! I had the pleasure of working with them for 3 years a loooong time ago. Since becoming a mom I don’t really do my make up EVER! So I was really excited to receive an invite to a Bare Minerals event. BYOB- Bring Your Own Bag, was such a fun learning experience.

BareMinerals1

Although I was familiar with the brand they have soo very many new products I felt really lost and almost felt like I was at a difference place. It was nice to get to play with all the makeup while the store was close just for us. After a brief meet and greet, we went upstairs to get a make up demo and discuss our own make up bags. Through the make up application we were asked question and won prices!

BareMinerals2

We had food, lots of laughter and learned a bunch. Needless to say I left feeling more prepared to change my makeup routine. I bought the new Complexion Rescue and of course I couldn’t leave without getting my loved Well Rested- except this time I bought the pencil to try something new. If you’ve never tried Bare Minerals go check it out. It feels great in the skin and it’s good for your skin.

An afternoon at Kate Spade NYC

Published by:

It’s rare when you get the chance to visit a high-end store and get treated like a VIP celebrity. That’s exactly the chance I had a week ago when I was invited for an afternoon at Kate Spade Madison Avenue. I was looking forward to the event for a whole week!

KateSpade3

I arrived at the beautiful store and immediately was greeted. The host of the event and one of the store managers, proceeded to give us a tour of the 3 floors of the store. I have always been a Kate Spade fan but I hadn’t even seen how much stuff they had and seeing it in person was completely different. I immediately fell in love with a couple of items including a flower-pot hand bag and a MR and MRS clutch.

KateSpade2

After the tour I was directed to the private VIP room. This room has couches and its own dressing room. Me and other local bloggers enjoyed champagne and cupcakes as we decided what outfits we wanted to try on.

KateSpade1

I went through the store and they have so many beautiful dresses but I gravitated towards what I’m comfortable with of course: pants and black and white flower print set. I didn’t think it would fit me as I thought their line would be geared towards the more petite frame, but when I put this outfit on-OMG! I was in heaven! It was so comfortable. I instantly felt like a 1,000 bucks! (probably because that’s about how much the whole outfit costs!)

KateSpade4

We all tried different outfits and played around with accessories in a “fashion shoot” modeling our outfits. And then reality hit, and the fact that I am a blogger/stay at home mom with 3 kids under 5 deterred me from making such a big purchase. But I did not leave empty-handed. There were swag bags with included Dove products from Vive Mejor, Chantilly Dallas and Carmex.

How doTerra Essential Oils have changed our lives

Published by:

I have to admit I was skeptical about the power of essential oils. I decided to buy some cheap ones over the Internet and liked them. My cousin asked me to try her doTerra oils and I was thinking to myself, this is waaay to much money. Well little did I know, I was going to love these oils so much that I would be ordering every month. Ok let me tell you I started with the $275 kit. This kit is awesome because it has everything you need to start and treat basically everything that you can think off. It comes with a mix of single essential oils like lavender, Frankincense and Melaleuca. But this kit also comes with some of their proprietary blends like OnGuard and Breathe. I got their promotion (they have one every month) and got Inmmortelle for free- I posted about this on my beauty post, you can check it out here. Now that I was set with a good amount of oils let me tell you what I used them for.

Lavender: ok I use lavender for EVERYTHING. I use it to help the kids go to sleep, I use it to help my teething baby (put it straight on her gums), I use it to treat her eczema, I use it to make everything smell nice.

Lemon and Melaleuca: I mix these two with vinegar and use it to clean every surface of my home. It cleans and disinfects but it also makes it smell super fresh. I also use Melaleuca with water and spray it on my kid after he comes home from school to prevent lice.

Peppermint is one of my favorites! One drop of doTerra Peppermint oil has the same effect at 28 cups of peppermint tea! CRAZY! Well I use it in my tea, to diffuse, I also use it on a scrub I make for my feet (tutorial coming soon). Because we live in NYC and there are bugs everywhere I also have a spray bottle with Peppermint and water and spray it all over the house to keep rodents and roaches away.

OnGuard: This is the mother of all oil blends. This is basically you’re all in one. This can be used for everything and anything you can possibly imagine. I have been using it as my hand sanitizer, but I also use it to make a flu bomb. I keep it in my purse. My mother in law, who started using the oils recently uses it as mouth wash! Yes, is that amazing.

Breathe was a key oil during this winter. My son snores like a truck. With Breathe in the diffuser he was clear all night. I also mix a bit of Breathe and Peppermint with coconut oil and make my own version of a vapor rub.

Since I received my introductory kit back in October, I have put an order every month and have been trying other oils. The best part and reason I really enjoy doTerra is because they are safe to consume, so I don’t have to worry about anything toxic getting to my kids or even myself. I have to say I also see the value in the oils. I still have my original bottle of Lavender and I can tell you I’ve used it a lot!! But you only need so little that it last so long. So you definitely see the dollar stretched out.

Another reason I love essential oils is because I have scent sensitivity. I can’t stand perfume, but the oils are so pure and natural that they don’t bother me at all. If you want to have an idea of all the incredible things you can do with oils check out this Pinterest board.  And the BEST BEST part you are not spending money on different things like medicine or cleaners. With the oils you can make your own stuff and costs half the price. It sounds really insane but we haven’t used medicine at all in about 2 months. Not Tylenol, not Vicks, no Tums, it’s been very liberating to be able to use the same oil for 50 different things!

If you are interested in trying the oils, let me know. Once you try them you won’t regret it! What’s your favorite scent? My sister is obsessed with Lavender!
